About our Pastor
Pastor Octavia L. Johnson has learned through the experiences in her life, what it truly to be loved by God. Having attended but never being raised up in the church, it was the one-on-one personal encounter and relationship with God as her Father that has continued to be the well from which she draws her strength. At the age of 22, Octavia accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and savior and began her journey in this new Christian life. After being invited to Spirit of Truth Worship Center, she encountered God through the leading and teaching of her Apostle, Dr. Winona B. Turner. She soon after received the Holy Spirit and it is through this relationship with her Apostle that God has allowed her to come to know herself and the same Spirit of Excellence as exampled by her leader.
Pastor Octavia was born and educated in Baltimore, Maryland before receiving her Bachelor’s degree from Morgan State University, Master’s degree from University of Maryland University College and is in the process of earning her Doctoral degree at Liberty University in Strategic Leadership. In tandem, Octavia completed a Bachelor of Ministry and Master of Ministry from Spirit of Truth, Bible College and Gobal Bible College. In 2017, Pastor Octavia birthed Polished, a Young Women’s Development Company. Now known as Polished Brand Company, an entrepreneurial hub for kingdom businesses aligned from the ministry. In 2024, by God’s urging, New Beginning Homes was birthed; a residential program for individuals needing a fresh start to build a solid foundation for their lives. Over the years, Pastor Octavia has nurtured and mentored many in and out of the ministry walls. For over 20 years, she has worked in a myriad of Leadership roles tenured within the Healthcare and Service industries all while having launched many outreach and business endeavors with her heart as a true entrepreneur. She now coaches and mentors business leaders and owners to follow their passion and jet-stream as they honor Christ in all their doing. believing strongly that the Marketplace is just as well a Ministry assignment as we develop and lead with Kingdom principles.
Over the last 23 years, Pastor Octavia has had the privilege of serving in a variety of capacities at Spirit of Truth Kingdom Worship Center, International. From Outreaches to Youth and Young Adult Ministries, Women’s Ministry events, School of Ministry Administration, and as the church, Financial Administrator and Secretary, her most cherished title is simply ‘servant’. In 2019, Octavia was appointed as the Assistant Pastor to Apostle Dr. Winona B. Turner. God has used Pastor Octavia to serve His church faithfully, often times in the background, pushing forward His kingdom vision. In 2024, God said it is time to bring the Woman of God forth as she was passed the Mantle as Pastor of Spirit of Truth after the following of her Apostle to continue in the good work He started!
As a mother raising her two handsome sons to be strong men of God, and two beautiful daughters in the Lord to be women of grace and distinction, Pastor Octavia committed her life to being an example of God’s faithfulness. Her heart and passion for God’s people, young and old, is to know how loved and important they are to God. For them to be confident in who God designed them to be to represent the Body of Christ and build God’s Kingdom on earth!
